Russia can adopt bill to regulate greenhouse emissions within year

GORKI, Moscow Region, Sep 23 (PRIME) -- Russia can adopt a bill on regulation of greenhouse gas emissions within a year, Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Gordeyev said at a meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Monday.

Medvedev said at the meeting that he had signed an order to ratify the Paris Agreement.

Gordeyev said, “The law of State Regulation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, the draft of which has already been prepared by the Economic Development Ministry, will become the framework law, and we plan to adopt it within a year.”

He also said that a draft 2050 strategy including a low volume of greenhouse gas emissions will be prepared until the end of 2019.
